Why Florham Park
What we see on the ground
Officially, the town is the Borough of Florham Park.
The Florham estate is an 840-acre Gilded Age property built in 1887 by Florence Adele Vanderbilt Twombly and Hamilton McKown Twombly. The borough's name combines "Florence" and "Hamilton."
Portions of the estate are now Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus, including the Villa of Saint Ann's classical Greek amphitheater.
